The students attending this program are all from the University of Texas at Austin, from either the School of Engineering or the School of Architecture or both (some dual-degree majors). They age in range from 3rd year to 6th year in the program, including some graduate students.
The mission of the Emerging Technologies program is to expose university students to state-of-the-art architecture and engineering methods. This includes:
– Architectural Design
– Structural Systems
– Energy Optimization
– Sustainability Methods
– Environmental Systems
– Construction Methods
As a study-abroad program, this course combines international travel, visits to professional offices, building tours, seminar-style classroom activity, and a substantial research/writing component.
